Simple Weekend Look

Image
Simple Weekend Look by valfox Spring is here, (here in Texas it feels like summer already!)  and it's time for light dresses, gorgeous wedges, and bright happy bags.  For those of you who live in places where it's still a bit cool, add in a sexy leather jacket in a fresh color like the one above! I had to include touches of green in honor of last week's St. Patrick's Day. Plus, I just love green. Enjoy!   1. Stud earrings I gave to my sister.  2. At lunch with my honey.  3. Sean in the new pool we got him. 4. Playing in Nana's backyard.  5. Pretty bubbles!  6. My new wedges from TJMAXX. 7. My mom and my niece.  8. The boys after I gave them haircuts.  9. Whole wheat pasta and shrimp.

Serious Sparkle - Friday's Fancies

Image
Serious Sparkle by valfox How fun it is to participate in Friday's Fancies again! There's still no HSI in the area where I live, (I haven't missed it as much as I thought I would actually) so I borrowed the net at my mom's house to work on this. I absolutely love the embellishment of the blazer and the understated gleam of the accessories. I matched the suede pumps to the color of the red sapphires in the cuff, but I can think of several other colors that would go as well. I might just have to wear something like this to the Christmas Eve service at my church this year! Linking up to Long Distance Loving !

Summer Wedding

Image
Summer Wedding Guest by valfox Hello all! I'm just popping in to share a pretty dress that would be perfect to wear to a summer wedding! The look I put together is inspired by the TJMaxx dress I wore to my cousin's wedding last month. I can't get enough of nautical colors like navy and white together! The wedding was SO much fun. I mean seriously F.U.N. We all ended up dancing to old rock/pop classics and even doing the Macarena and the Cupid Shuffle. My mom can dance like nobody's business! Oh and my cousin and his bride make the most adorable couple ever! It is a blessing to see how much they love God and each other! They also cracked everyone up with the most amazing surprise first dance medley I've ever seen. I just wish it was on youtube so I could share the awesomeness! (Linking up to Long Distance Loving !)

Yellow, White and Blue

(Dress and shirt from Old Navy, shoes from Express, watch from Fossil, earrings from Kohl's) Date nights are good for the soul. Preferably ones starting with delicious treats and ending with new trains for your little one. Fresh soft pretzels eaten too quickly to be photographed are highly recommended also, as is enjoying all of the above with your handsome better half. Throwing all rainbows and unicorns out the window...if you and your better half MUST get a stomach bug on the last day of your three day weekend, it is very convenient if you wait to catch it until after the other recovers! Miraculously that was what happened on Monday. Ryan spent the first half of the day throwing up and feeling miserable, and then as soon as he got better I came down with the bug for the rest of the day.  I was able to watch Sean and run to the store for Pedialyte and Sprite in the morning, and then in the evening he was able to take care of me! I hope all future date...

Lack of Color

(Top from Gap, shorts from Old Navy, shoes from Target, necklace from JewelMint) I love color, but lately I've been really liking neutral/monochromatic outfits. Above is an outfit I wore out shopping the other day, and below are a few outfits I put together for fun. I would love to own those cute espadrilles! I hope everyone has a nice three day weekend, I am just praying that my awful back pain will go away so that I can enjoy it. Take care! (My Polyvore )

Slide 10, Val 0

(Top from Old Navy, wedges and Michael Kors jeans via Ross, Nordic Treasure necklace from JewelMint)   ( Easy Breezy by valfox ) We had a lunch date on Sunday after church and some sushi, cucumber salad, and red bean sesame balls hit the spot. (Ok fine, there was fried rice, broccoli beef and ice cream consumed as well... buffets are dangerous that way!) I think I worked off all that deliciousness later though. We were at the playground with Sean and an attempt to run up a VERY steep slide turned into an epic battle between myself and the slide. I think I tried about 100 times. We're talking a running start, getting three fourths of the way up, hanging on for dear life while trying to pull myself up the last little bit, and then tumbling back down banging elbows and knees on the way. Yes, I have the bruises to prove it! Thankfully the playground was empty by then, and no one but Ryan, Sean and our friend James viewed my failure. But anyway, back to the date. I wor...

Picnics at the Pool

Image
I LOVE taking Sean to the pool! He loves the water so much and gets hyper and excited to be there, plus his little wet footprints are so cute next to Ryan's! I've started packing snacks or a meal for us to eat while we're there too. We've had beef and cheese empanadas with fresh melon, turkey and cheese sandwiches on wheat bagels with strawberries, pineapple and raw green beans on the side, and juice, whole grain crisps, and fruit sticks on the last few outings. Is it just me or does food taste better outside?? Even tastier after a swim too! I actually think you need a blanket in the grass for something to qualify as a picnic though, but Ryan says it's any meal you eat outside. In the interest of combining posts, (since it's picnic week at Friday's Fancies !) I'll go with Ryan's definition this time. Hence you get a poolside picnic outfit from me today! (And no, I wouldn't be showing my stomach, the one piece takes care of t...
