A Texan Odyssey

Back in August we drove up to Boerne, Texas to attend a family wedding. We actually missed the ceremony due to faulty GPS instructions...but we all had a blast at the reception afterwards! The next morning after breakfast we visited an  antique shop  and then decided to spend some time at Cibolo Creek on our way out of town. The boys had a lot of fun seeing a bunch of geese and ducks (and a few turtles!) up close, although Connor kept trying to run off on his own! He is becoming quite the independent little boy! Here are a million some pictures we took of our morning by the banks of the creek.

Last week we spent a few days at South Padre Island for a little family vacation! We enjoyed introducing Connor to the ocean for the first time and despite the look of indifference in the photos, he actually did like the water. I will say that traveling with a four year old and a three month old is kind of crazy though! Between potty breaks and nursing stops the trip doubled in time, which led to some stressful meltdowns in the car. We're going back next June though! Some insanity in the car is worth it to get back to that gorgeous beach! Next time I might just take the portable DVD player though...

Ocean Escape by valfox Back in '09 my husband stayed in Costa Rica for several weeks on a business trip. He fell in love with the natural beauty there and promised me he'll take me to visit someday. Looking through the photos he took, I just had to choose Costa Rica as my dream destination for the theme of this week's Friday's Fancies . The serene ocean vistas inspired me to put together a simple blue and tan look that would be perfect for strolling along the beach with my honey. In the past I've worn tees and shorts to the beach (as seen below), but maybe next time I'll get to wear something like this lovely J.Crew tunic dress. I wouldn't care what I was wearing though, as long as I got to experience Costa Rica with my baby! In the meantime, I am very much looking forward to the massages we have scheduled for Saturday. Have an amazing weekend everyone, or as they say over there: pura vida!

We started our day with a visit to the local farmer's market. We bought some delicious lime crisps to share. The baked goods on the right looked so good! They were made by a sweet lady from Switzerland. This gentleman was singing a Jim Croce song. My mom remembered the song well. I really like these two shots of my sister and her daughter. She was fixing Maya's hair. These were taken at a seafood market. After we took the picture on the right we laughed so hard when we realized what it looked like. Get your grubby claws off me Mr. Gator!! We stopped outside the shop to take a few family pictures. Chris' niece really loved Sean. The above picture of them holding hands is so sweet! Back on the road Sean did some modeling of his little sunglasses for us, and at a big souvenir shop called Bob's World he tried on some hats.
